He presents the big picture with a broad brush, eluding to important details as needed that will be addressed later. The text is everywhere clear, reasonably concise, and the author uses good judgment in determining which calculations to present as examples and which to reserve for practice, all of which make this a very easy text to read. Chapter 3 summarizes general relativity and how it is used to understand the cosmological data. Each chapter ends with a nice summary of concepts along with a substantial set of helpful exercises well designed to enhance understanding. The CMB data analysis chapter is very useful to grasp the high level of statistical data analysis tools that CMB community has developed over the years. All the topics have a good balance between conciseness and clarity.
