Mount Morrison is a 12,268-foot (3,739-meter) mountain located in the Sierra Nevada of California.

We scramble up class-3 bands of marble to a minor 11,350-foot summit. However, the area on the east side of Mt. Aconcagua mountain page is a child of the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits.' Mount Morrison is south of Mono Jim Peak. This road is only accessible during spring/summer/fall and when snow free. There is barely enough space for the four of us to camp, but with a bit of effort we are able to clear out a sufficient amount of space.
Breathing a sigh of relief, the four of us scramble down the remaining slabs to our camp on the northwest shoulder, surrendering ourselves immediately to deep sleep.The glory of the morning causes me to forget the gnarly anxiety that I had felt while descending the chimney in the dark. The earliest rocks in the Sierra Nevada are metamorphic roof pendants of Paleozoic age, the oldest being metasedimentary rocks from the Cambrian in the Mount Morrison region. Morrison is named for Robert Morrison, a posse member killed while pursuing escaped criminals near Convict Lake in 1871 (The Tobacco Flat Road will get you to around 8,450' and save you 2 to 3 miles of hiking and 900' gain up that hill from Convict Lake. Against better judgement, I soon find myself picking my way up the gash. You will find a series of two to three small but very secluded and pretty lakes.
