The Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), situated 100 kms from Bangalore, is the second deepest mine in the world and has mined gold for over 121 years. The prominent person of the family, Thangam, was killed by KGF police in an encounter near Chittor. Loose Mada Yogesh plays a role of notorious rowdy Thangam, who was allegedly involved in 37 cases of murder, dacoity, rape, robbery and theft cases in and around KGF, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
So, he was understandably excited, when an old report by one Lt John Warren spoke about possible gold reserves in Kolar. Rowdy Thangam is a real-life character who was notorious for his unlawful activities in the 80s and the 90s in the Kolar Gold Field who was killed in an encounter in 1997. Lt Warren’s encounter with Kolar gold began in 1799, after erstwhile ruler Tipu Sultan was killed in the battle of Srirangapatnam by the British. The second additional JMFC court here has issued summons to KGF: Chapter 1 film producer Vijay Kiragandur, director Prashanth Neel, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Gubbi Jairaj and Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) company.The summons were issued based on a petition filed by Pouli seeking a stay on shooting of the sequel to KGF: Chapter 1. Thangam, a rowdy-sheeter, had virtually ruled the KGF in the past.
